WAHL HIGH VISIBILITY CORDLESS TRIMMER
Based on a longstanding relationship with a key Wahl executive, Overwatch was the chosen partner to develop a new premier personal grooming trimmer. Requirements included cost and size reducing the internal waterproof drive module and an improved user interface. Check out this awesome product review about the finished product.
The Challenge
Differentiating a product in this category was quite a challenge. The Overwatch ID team presented concepts that incorporated several color, material, and finish options. Given the product is also waterproof, texture was another key design consideration. Multiple concepts for affixing the attachments were prototyped and evaluated by Wahl sponsored focus groups.
The Results
A high end retail product for consumers looking for the quality that Wahl is known for. Consumers are getting a complete trimmer kit that looks unique in the marketplace and offers excellent usability thanks to the blade positioning relative to the body. The product also offers a new intuitive accessory attachment methodology.
Cool Fact
As is the case with several client projects, the Overwatch team generated intellectual property for Wahl based on the waterproof drive module and accessory mounting system. The patent for both systems is currently in process.
