FOCAL POINTSEEM 1 LINEAR LIGHTING SYSTEM
Focal Point chose to aggressively address a market need by developing a high performance narrow aperture linear lighting product. To help accomplish this goal, multiple resources from Overwatch were embedded at Focal Point as critical team members over the duration of the project.
The Challenge
As a premium product, elimination of light leaks and ease of installation were must have features. The team was also challenged with the goal of launching all product variants within a few months of the initial release. The variants included suspended, recessed, drywall ceiling, and wall mount configurations along with multiple lensing options for each.
The Results
The team created a reflector tray module that has mounting into reflector along with alignment and light blocking features. Developed a new joining system that integrates with suspension mounting points. The joining system does not require reflector or LED board removal for installation.
Cool Fact
The industry’s only true Lit End Cap feature in a linear lighting configuration. After the original product launch (using the Overwatch agile process in collaboration with Focal Point) we engineered a patented optional product option, which includes a dedicated light source, reflectors, and lensing.
